Merry Christmas everyone! We Finns are celebrating Christmas today already, so this is the end of this calendar. Tomorrow I'm going to do absolutely nothing with V, but you can come here and check out the photos of this year's matchboxes all together. I'd really like it if you came, actually.

(self made paper, vintage school book illustration, vintage dictionary text, vintage piano key bit, paper)
Saturday, 22 December 2012
twenty-two
(vintage mirror finding, vintage ensyclopedia illustration and text, handmade paper, hand dyed Japanese paper, paper)
Friday, 21 December 2012
twenty-one
(vintage school book illustration, vintage filigree findings, vintage book spine, hand dyed Japanese paper, thread, paper)
It is only today I can promise you there will be a full matchbox calendar this year too. I was a bit worried (well, a lot) I wouldn't be able to pull this off after all. V has been a tremendous helper and every single comment was pretty darn important, too.

And I have absolutely no ideas for tomorrow's matchbox. Wish me luck!

If I ever plan to make this next year too, please remind me that it's a very bad idea. A couple of days ago I was certain I couldn't even finish this year's calendar. My collection of interesting things that fit into a matchbox has grown smaller and smaller since 2008 when I first began my matchbox project. Hoarding materials year round seems inappropriate too, since this began as a cabinet of found curiosities after all. Lately I haven't been finding much anything. V has been a champ and helped me through the desperate moments. I somehow recall him doing that last year as well...
